As we close this year’s 30 Days 30 Ways AUS campaign, we turn our focus to the extraordinary people who keep South Australians safe: our volunteers.

CFS Volunteer and News Presenter Brenton Ragless has a special admiration for them:

They never know when disaster will strike, or what they’ll be facing — from road crash trauma, to house fires, to bushfires, to devastated wildlife and landscapes. They’re the salt of the earth. Volunteers, including those from the CFS, SES, SurfLifesaving SA, Red Cross, and Disaster Relief Australia step up in our greatest times of need. They protect lives, homes, communities, and the environment. Their dedication is what makes South Australia stronger and more resilient.
